The following statement is of Prakash Raj. But if I say that this statement is of silent majority of Indian, would I be too much wrong?
“Who killed my dear friend Gauri is not as important to me today as who has been celebrating her death. There may not be proof as to who killed Gauri but we can see who is celebrating it and from this, we can form an idea of who could have killed her. The underlying cruelty in all of this is apparent to many people. Many of those celebrating Gauri’s death are persons followed by the Prime Minister on social media. The PM has been absolutely silent about these people. When we see these people going around acting as if nothing has happened, Am I stupid? Are people foolish that they cannot see through all this? Are the youth of today blind? The time has come for ..... to understand this."
He has named Modi, I would not like to restrict to the name of Modi. What if I just raise my head, look around, see the murders being committed in Bengal by goons of the ruling party over decades! What if my attention is attracted by hundreds of people in Tamil Nadu who had been booked for 'Sedition' meaning 'Waging war against nation' because they could criticize Jayalalitha! Will I be wrong if my attention is drawn by people killing others only because the other did not agree with their views, in Kashmir, in Kerala, in Rajsthan, in Uttar Pradesh, in Jharkhand. Because the other person carried a lump of meat for a meal in his house and one shouted:- look, carrying beef! That shout was sufficient for killing another. What if one shouted:- look a pandit, and that was sufficient reason to kill another in Sopore or Srinagar. One shouted:- look a non-communist, and a sufficient reason to kill. One Shouted:- look, a non-Delhi person (or a North Eastern) moving in a market in Delhi at night, kill him. See an African, shout, drug dealer, kill him! One shouted:- look, he refused to pay club mandated amount for before repairing his house, and a sufficient reason for killing.
Who killed my neighbor is my concern. Why it is also my concern. Who next, it is also my concern. But what is the concern of the leaders?
Who raped a girl is a concern of the family of the victim; of police. And the wretched leaders respond with statements like 'Boys are boys, they will make mistakes, you cannot kill them'; 'how the court can believe the statement of only two girls when thousands outside the courts are supporting the (rapist) saint'; 'girls ate chowmein, they instigated the boys' and all. The list of quotes or our perverted leaders is unending, the names cutting across the party lines as well as geographies. It grows so much as in the election, one party issues an open invitation to its workers to enter houses of rivals and rape the mothers and sisters of supporters of other parties.
I am not afraid of my country. I am still confident of my neighbor, my countrymen. I am confident that the majority of people of all communities are still humane, helpful, and sensible.
But should I be afraid of the leaders of my country?? #afraidofleaders #iamnotafraidofmycountry
