Religion: I Look At
Religion, Oh! What is it?
Stronger than the Armour
Tolerant like the Shield
That is Religion.
Not weak is its strength
Not hurt by Argument
Not damaged by flying pebbles
Durable, Permanent, that is my Religion.
And if there is one
Which, a stone can Crack
Let the destiny of Religion
Be abandoned to Hell.
Let the Human live in Humanity
In this world created by Him
Take my Religion away
Take my Praying Altar away.
Don't need a Mosque a Church
Don't need the Sermons
Don't need the Initiation
If All they teach only Ego.
I rather move to the corner
Where a sad, thirsty is there
I move to that darkness
where the pain is beyond expression.
Don't need the lights
Shimmering from the Rows of Lamps
Don't need the Prayer and Blessings
From the Golden cages
Let me carry a lamp
In that doubted dark corner
Where the eyes search for hand
To wipe the tears.
Don't need the Religion Guides
Don't need the Religion definition
Let me have the Society
Which can be proud of its individuals.
Stronger than the Armour
Tolerant like the Shield
That is Religion.
Not weak is its strength
Not hurt by Argument
Not damaged by flying pebbles
Durable, Permanent, that is my Religion.
And if there is one
Which, a stone can Crack
Let the destiny of Religion
Be abandoned to Hell.
Let the Human live in Humanity
In this world created by Him
Take my Religion away
Take my Praying Altar away.
Don't need a Mosque a Church
Don't need the Sermons
Don't need the Initiation
If All they teach only Ego.
I rather move to the corner
Where a sad, thirsty is there
I move to that darkness
where the pain is beyond expression.
Don't need the lights
Shimmering from the Rows of Lamps
Don't need the Prayer and Blessings
From the Golden cages
Let me carry a lamp
In that doubted dark corner
Where the eyes search for hand
To wipe the tears.
Don't need the Religion Guides
Don't need the Religion definition
Let me have the Society
Which can be proud of its individuals.
What a thoughtful one God give all the human beings the strength and courage to feel the sweet fragrance of Religion and not the burning odour
ReplyDeleteNice writing, the poem is worth reading to our political and religious leaders. The religion without humanity is not religion. Great thoughts dear brother
ReplyDeleteNice. Spoken in exquisite verse. I love it. Truly inspiring. One of the best I have read. Thanks for penning and sharing with me. I am in good company. My best wishes, dear Anup. Take my love.
