Semi Religious Cult: The Fraud on People
Nice wordings, borrowed from firstpost.com. I firmly believe in the sentences and would like to be called even Atheist if asked to bow to these BABAs. Shame on them. Shame on us that we think these people as sales and marketing representatives of God.
"It has been proven time and again that most of these cults around babas are organized mafias, with their hands in shady deals, wheeling and dealing. In fact, the only factor that drives their success is the profit motive. Both the babas and their bhakts [devotees] feed off each other, in a loosely organized multi-level marketing scheme sold in the name of spirituality."
To understand their modus operandi, next time you think of a godman/woman, imagine Don Vito Corleone, or a Bhai, sitting in his chamber, offering everyone a deal they can't resist. Just replace the clean-cut suit with a saffron cloth or frock and tilak, or garish bridal attire with lots of sindoor; alternatively, a dark black gown from head to toe with photos of Kaba and a grave covered with green bed sheet assuring cure for everything from COVID to infertility; or a white gown from shoulder to toe with a hat, a cross hanging on chest and a scented water bottle in hand assuring cure of all problems.
When the spiral of greed grows, most of these Godmen and their cults get outed for what they are.
So, a Rampal gets arrested after violent clashes in Hisar, a Sukhvinder Kaur (Radhe Maa) gets exposed for her alleged sleaze and an Asumal Sirumalani (Asaram Bapu) gets jailed for allegedly exploiting minors for sex. In the end, most of them turn out to be black sheep.

And when they die, their bhakts start grappling for their immense wealth, sometimes going to the insane extent of retaining the dead bodies of their gurus, spreading the myth that they are in a samadhi and will return to life again.
We, of course, refuse to learn from experience. Their greed, superstition, and servile attitude — the belief that even God can be pleased with an offering — help these people and their cults to grow. And keep grabbing men, money, material."
Truely said. It happened when Sai Baba (not the original one) died. Ram Rahim and so forth. I failed to understand the need for further carriers for God's message and subsequently treatment these greedy baba's as God. No logic in treating everyone as God, new trend it to treat even politician as God.
