Destiny, Or ??

(Bengali poem was written on August 6, 2018. Now its translation is presented) 

What went wrong, and where?
Never came to know.
Was it destiny,
Or the cost of mistakes, 
Let it go, It is already past. 

The trial was for eternity;

Could never match the accounts,
Lost the digits, 
In the zero, that is Universe. 

Questions played the hide and seek, 
Made themselves felt important, 

Life flowed like a river 

A river, which never met the sea!

Millions of tears lost in the moisture, 
Sleepless days lost in darkness.

Saw the cantonments wiped off,

Saw the rivers tamed by times
Saw the mountains rising from the desert,
Saw the desert replacing lakes.

Saw thousands of merchants, 

Killing the slaves in millions, 
They had their own arithmetic, 
Their own accounts, own stories.

Saw the darkness of times, 
Swallowing millions of indentured,
Erasing them in corridors of power,
Cemented below the shining tiles of have's. 

Saw humans, getting roasted themselves, 
In their own ovens, ovens of duties,
And saw others, cooking their cakes, 
in the same oven, rights, the spices.


Attempted to understand,
Whether it is destiny drafted by The Divine,
Or the price of mistakes paid
Unseen, unknown mistakes,
Of this life? or the past?

The Destiny by Divine,
Or The Price for Mistakes,
Answer? All are searching.
